As a recent graduate of Loyola University Maryland, I’m still figuring out exactly what it is I’ll be doing with my life. Therefore, I now find myself thrown back into the USA (only somewhat unwillingly) after spending a month interning at a magazine in Urbino, Italy.
Now, instead of leisurely writing about Italian composers and underground caves, I’m buckling down and pursuing my MA in Journalism and Public Affairs at American University in Washington, DC. Other than earning my undergraduate degree in Communications with a specialization in Journalism, my current journalistic experience is slightly limited- an internship at the Baltimore City Paper, working as the Arts & Society editor at my Alma mater’s newspaper, and a lot of time spent flipping through the pages of National Geographic Traveler- which definitely counts, right? So this next step is a pretty important one.
I don’t know much about Washington, DC. I don’t know a whole lot about blogging. And I definitely don’t know where this next year will take me. But I’m more than ready to find out.
