Bio

My interest in video production (as as subset of the media industry) began as an eighth grader, armed with my parents’ home video camera and the help of eager friends.  We typically made spoofs of commercials or television shows, but my work was generally limited by my parents’ concern with the camera itself–and the fact that I may break it.  So I saved up enough money for my own, bought a basic version of an editing program, and a decade later, now find myself a grad student in American University’s journalism program.

I recently graduated from Westminster College in New Wilmington, PA with a focus in broadcast communications, media art minor.  My time there was spent in the television and radio stations, producing, directing, anchoring, and reporting.  Though my original major was video production (at Ohio University, before transferring to Westminster), I quickly fell in love with broadcast media.

My final undergraduate year allowed me to expand my broadcast experience.  I created, produced, and hosted a late-night talk show–completely run by students.  It was a prime opportunity to develop marketing, management, and other skills, and proved as a fun experiment in the process.

Though Jefferson, Ohio is home, I’ve spent the last two months settling into Washington, DC and forming new experiences and connections.  In my free time I enjoy exploring, videography/photography, friends, and a good game of croquet.
