Hello! Aloha(Hawaiian)! Annyonghaseyo(Korean)! Konnichiwa(Japanese)! Nihao(Chinese)!
I am a resident of Maui, Hawaii, but my curiosity of people has taken me to different countries. I love immersing myself in the language, culture, customs, and especially the food of the country.
I was living in Kyoto, Japan and Seoul, South Korea for the past six years. While working in the "hubs" of Asia, I traveled to various places that piqued my interest; Beijing, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Bali, Bangkok/Chiang Mai Thailand, Taiwan, Phnom Penh/Siem Reap Cambodia, Singapore, Venice, Rome, Paris, Belgium, and the Netherlands. I have returned to some of these destinations because I loved them or because they were too large to see in one trip.
I haven't had my feet cemented to one place, and I have been living out of a suitcase for a long time, so it has been an adventure returning to the 48 contingent states. I have learned how "American" I am while living abroad, and now being in America, I am learning how much I have changed from being away.
But I still can't stop the ticklish feeling I get under my feet as soon as I see a plane fly overhead. To where could it be going. And I wonder what it is like there....
