Cooper Allen was born and raised in suburban Atlanta. After graduating from the University of Georgia in 2001, he moved to Washington, D.C., joining the staff of U.S. Max Cleland. He then returned home to complete a master’s degree in political science, also at the University of Georgia. Most recently, he worked as an academic adviser at his alma mater. Now, he is a student in American University’s graduate journalism program. After graduation, he hopes to remain in Washington and pursue his goal of becoming a political journalist.
