An Old Fogie by 20?

With the way technology is continuously changing, I should feel about 100 years old when it comes to figuring out technological tools nowadays.

"The Children of Cyberspace," a New York Times article, highlights the differences in how various ages adapt to the proliferation of tech toys in today's gadget-crazed environment.

Journalism after graduation

View this entry in its original location on my blog.

Recently I went to speak to a journalism class at my alma mater about choosing to attend J-school and practicing journalism post-graduation. It was strange to be speaking in front of the class - Magazine Writing - that I had just taken last spring! It was great to see my former teacher, Professor McCarthy, who worked for the Wall Street Journal and has given me a lot of great advice in my journalism career.

Kate Moss and other coke fiends snort up acres of rainforest

Kate Moss, Robert Downey Jr., Lindsay Lohan and other cocaine users have contributed to global warming because of the acres of rain forest being destroyed to grow coca crops, according to a report from the British Parliament's Home Affairs Committee released March 3, which references material from the Colombian government and the United Nations Office on Drugs and

Yet another film I'd forgotten I'd seen until a few minutes before the end credits.

I wonder what the average time span is before an average person forgets that he/she has seen a film and watches it again as if it's completely new.

Represent, Lehigh!

After capturing its second Patriot League Championship in a 74-59 victory over Lafayette on Friday, Lehigh is setting its sites on the daunting task ahead: the first round of the NCAA Men’s Basketball Championship.  More specifically, Lehigh, which earned the 16th seed in the Midwest region, is set to meet the 1st seed in the Midwest region and the top-ranked team in the nation, Kansas.

Nonetheless, they will be riding their best-ever conference performance, 15-2, into the WNIT, marking the program's 3rd apperance at the tournament. The first matchups for the tournament will be announced sometime Monday.

A Year w/o TV: Day 41: Breakthrough

I was on vacation for a week, so I ended up watching TV here and there.

But to my own amazement, I felt no inclination to watch TV when I was by myself. Even when I was watching it with friends, I didn’t care much about the programs we were flipping through.

I thought by not watching regular TV programs — and my favorite reality shows — I’d be eager to catch a glimpse of the latest episode of this or that.

But I was sort of like, “eh… whatever.”

March Madness is absent on U street

"Let's go Orange!" That was the chant from the DJ at Lounge of Three Sunday, after the number one seeds were announced on ESPN. There were no real shockers at that point. Everyone who'd watched the conference tournament games throughout the week were smart enough to know that Kansas, Duke, Kentucky and Syracuse hadn't hurt their tournament chances.
