Letter from the Editor
Today we are publishing the last edition of the American Observer for the current academic year.
The Observer is a year older. In spirit though, it resembles our very own Benjamin Button - it just gets younger and sexier.
No, it does not exist in a world of tachyons but it does coexist with creative graduate students and a very non-traditional professor. We can probably draw a time-line listing the Observer's many milestones for the year - the podcasts, flash presentations, and themes.
Although we started with the idea of themes, execution of the same had, at times, been difficult, resulting in a few editions which were potpourri of different sub-themes. Nevertheless, the stories have been great as ever.
The current edition was originally designed to revolve around the theme of the 'bucket list'. We have a delectable mixture of stories of things to do in the city and the surrounding neighborhoods; a story on court interpreters and one on where to find used books in the city. The fabulous account of a cruise down the Potomac river is sure to make you want to experience it for yourself.
All in all, I believe this edition has something for everyone: a fitting finale to a wonderful year!
