The Kogod Courtyard is nestled between the Smithsonian American Art Museum and National Portrait Gallery. At 28,000 square feet, it is one of the District's largest public event spaces. The 900 ton roof was designed by the architectural firm Foster + Partners and features 864 glass panels; no two are alike. Four water scrims designed by Kathryn Gustafson provide a soundtrack of running water.
Free public wireless Internet access is available inside the courtyard, which is open every day from 11:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
